The chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi launched Redmi 3 smartphone in January of this year. That smartphone was a huge success for the Redmi lineup. It has also brought up a cheaper version of Redmi 3, which is Redmi 3S.
Redmi 3S has almost the same specifications as Redmi 3 except it comes with a fingerprint sensor. Redmi 3S has 5 inch IPS LCD Touchscreen display with 16M colors. The resolution of the screen is 720X1280 pixels and the pixel density is 294ppi. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and has the popular MIUI 7.3 of Xioami over the main OS.
The performance of Redmi 3S looks satisfactory. It has 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 & 1.1 GHz Cortex-A53 quad core processors. Redmi 3S comes with 2GB or 3GB RAM. It has Adreno 505 GPU which is I think enough for mobile gaming. Redmi 3S comes with 4100mAh non-removable Li-ion battery which looks like enough for a full day backup.
There is nothing fancy about the camera. It has 13 megapixel back and 5 megapixel front camera. 1080p resolution video can be recorded with the camera. The camera has other common options like geo-tagging, face detection, smile detection, HDR and panorama.
The main difference with Redmi 3 is the fingerprint sensor which is located at the back of the phone. Redmi 3S provides the same specification but additionally with a fingerprint sensor. Now the amazing thing is that the price of Redmi 3S is lower than the price of Redmi 3. Xiaomi Redmi 3S is available for $106 for 16GB ROM & 2GB RAM or at $136 for 32GB ROM & 3GB RAM. That is a killer budget phone for this kind of high specs. Redmi 3S is available in Gold, Silver and Dark Grey colors.
